On the 7th of July Achuevo village celebrated its 317 anniversary.
- The history of one of the oldest settlements of Slavyansk district tracks back for centuries. In far 1697 the Turks, allied with the Nogais have erected a fortress to block the troops of Peter I to the south, they called it Achuk, which means “Open”.
- Only in almost a hundred years, in the year 1777, the fortress was taken from land, without a fight by the Russian troops led by general Brink.
- The first settlers of Achuevo village did not just deal with the floods and fished, but brought with them the valuable heritage of Russian peasantry and Cossacks cultural traditions.
- Today Achuevo is one of the most well-set and blooming places in our district. Following the great traditions, laid by our ancestors, the modern settlement greets its people and guests with its comfort.
- The great anniversary of their small village the Achuevo people celebrated in the village hall of culture. Deputy head of the Legislative Assembly of Krasnodar region and the heads of villages came to congratulate the people.

In the late XIX – early XX centuries the pages of the Encyclopedic Dictionary of Brockhaus and Efron held the following description of the village:
“…famous for its rich fishing grounds, that belong to the Kuban army and are leased out. That mostly caught is the red fish, and from the white there is Chalcalburnus and Roach. A. has a stone church, the populace are fishermen, hired by the owners of the fisher business.”
